Figures released today in IFPI’s Global Music Report show total revenues for 2020 were USD 21.6 billion. Growth was driven by streaming, especially by paid subscription streaming revenues, which increased by 18.5%.

The emergence and improvement of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) protocol allows computers, musical instruments and other hardware to communicate. Also, other advancement in silicon-related technology, such as faster CPUs with advanced architectures also enabled people to perform digital editing more efficient.
